Explanation of CLI:
CLI stands for Command Level Interface. CLI tools are programs that you execute using a command line (as opposed to a GUI).
If you're a Linux or UNIX user, CLI is more or less the same thing as “shell level”.
If you're an MS-Windows “power user” or a long-time sysadmin, you're probably familiar with CLI tools. If you've never heard of CLI, and you primarily run MS-Office®, etc., CLI will involve a learning curve.
